Remote Instruction – Wednesday, January 28
Due to continued ice accumulation, below-freezing temperatures, and unsafe conditions on secondary roads and our school campuses, Catawba County Schools will operate on a Remote Instruction Day on Wednesday, January 28.
District leaders have been in contact with NCDOT, which has advised that not all secondary roads will be cleared before the end of the week. As a result, there is a strong possibility that remote instruction may continue through the end of the week. We will communicate updates as decisions are made.
What to Expect for Remote Learning:
-
K–2 students: Live instruction for Letterland and Heggerty from 9:00–10:00 a.m.
Teachers will also hold office hours from 1:00–2:00 p.m. All K-2 students should have brought home learning packets to complete. - Grades 3–5, Middle, and High School: Students will receive a combination of live instruction and independent work, with lessons recorded when applicable.
- Teachers will communicate expectations, links, and assignments through Canvas/Google Classroom and ParentSquare.
- 3rd-6th Grade Inclement Weather Plan
