The Catawba County Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on April 22, 2024, at Catawba County Schools Center for Administrative Services (2285 North Anderson Avenue, Newton, North Carolina). The meeting will be held in the boardroom, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The Mechanical Minds, a remarkable team of dedicated students representing high schools from across our county, have made an extraordinary leap forward in the world of robotics by qualifying for the prestigious World FIRST Robotics Competition, set to
take place in Houston, Texas, from April 17th to 20th, 2023.
Catawba County Board of Education members will visit school sites on April 11, 2024. No business, action, or public comments will be conducted. The purpose of school visits is a school tour, led by the principal at each location. School tours will last approximately 30 minutes per location.
Catawba County middle school and high school art students were recently honored at the 77th Annual Paul Whitener Memorial Student Art Show. Their art is on display through the end of the month at the Hickory Museum of Art.

NEWTON, February 27, 2024 --The Catawba County Board of Education will hold a public meeting on Monday, March 11, 2024, to present a proposed redistricting plan for the Bandys feeder area. The public meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the media center at Catawba Elementary School, located at 5415 Hudson Chapel Road, Catawba, North Carolina.
Catawba County Schools is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of its students in the recent Soil and Water Conservation Competition, a testament to their commitment to environmental stewardship and academic excellence.
The competition, which drew participants from across the county, showcased the talents of students in various categories, including poetry, essays, and visual arts, all focused on the theme of conservation.
